Layered Chocolate Lush- your WHOLE family is going to LOVE this recipe!

This my most popular dessert, from my loved ones. I can not even begin to tell you how many times I am asked to make this recipe! To be honest, I am completely okay with that! Who doesn’t love a reason to make a delicious dessert? I sure do! This is an all year round recipe, that I hope you love as much as we do!

What is Layered Chocolate Lush?

Layered Chocolate Lush (aka Better Than Sex Cake, Chocolate Lush, 4-Layered Dessert, and many more names), it may have some crazy names but it is an easy layered dessert that includes a pecan crust, a cream cheese layer, chocolate and vanilla layer that is topped with whipped topping and shaved chocolate. It’s truly decadent and it’s luscious.

Prep Time: 45 minutes / Cook Time: 20 minutes TOTAL: 1 hour 5 minutes

Servings: 12+

INGREDIENTS:

Crust

  • 1 c. pecans (chopped)
  • 3 t. granulated sugar
  • ½ c. unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. cool whip

Vanilla Pudding

  • 5.1 oz. instant vanilla pudding
  • 2 c. milk

Chocolate Pudding

  • 5.1 oz. instant chocolate pudding
  • 2 c. milk

Toppings

  • 2 c. cool whip
  • Shaved chocolate

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  3. In a mixer, mix all the crust ingredients together and press the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes.
  5. Prepare the vanilla pudding as per the instructions on the package but use 2 cups milk  for a firmer pudding.
  6. Prepare the chocolate pudding as per the instructions on the package but use 2 cups milk for a firmer pudding.
  7. In a mixer add the cream cheese, powdered sugar and the cup of whipped cream. Mix until light and fluffy.
  8. Let the crust cool. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the crust evenly. Spread the vanilla pudding over the cream cheese layer, then the chocolate pudding. Spread the whipped cream as the last layer then top with shaved chocolate if preferred.

Refrigerate for a couple hours until it sets before serving. Enjoy!
